Professional Experience

2016               

Spanish Language Program Assistant, Kennedy Museum of Art, Athens, OH

• Prepared Spanish activities for Spanish students visiting museum. Most activities consisted of questions in Spanish for students to respond to.

• Helped lead discussions in Spanish when students visited

• Gave partial museum tours for large classes in English

• Gave art demos for families visiting museum

• Worked with both children and high school students on art related activities

• Helped set up galleries for upcoming shows

• Helped reorganize museum collection

• I helped a predominately Hispanic, sixth grade summer camp brainstorm ideas for a drawing activity where each student was asked to make a drawing about an issue within their community. This was a meaningful experience, because I helped the kids develop their abstract thinking skills so they could express their ideas visually.

Internships

Denver Art Museum, 100 W 14th Ave Pkwy, Denver, CO

• I helped Jorge Rivas, head of Spanish Colonial Art, to transfer information from the museum database into a Microsoft word document so he could select from the document the works he wanted for an upcoming show on Spanish Colonial Art.

• Brain stormed Ideas for a story time activity at the Denver Art Museum. My task consisted in visiting the Denver Art Museum, and selecting works that I thought would appeal to kids. I then proposed ideas to the Education Department at the museum based on these selections.
